We are Datum Advanced Composites Private Limited – a rapidly growing fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite manufacturing business from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. At Datum, we design, develop, and manufacture high-performance, lightweight FRP composite products for our customers. We cover all aspects of the composite product lifecycle, from new product design, process development, prototyping, verification and validation, and series production to aftersales product support. Job Description

As a Business Development Executive – Technical Sales, you will play a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities, creating strategies for market entry, and fostering strategic partnerships within the industry. Your technical expertise in composites, aerospace and defence, and sales acumen will be instrumental in driving the growth of our business and expanding our market presence. You will join the Strategy job family in our Advanced Manufacturing Facility at 523, Ratanpur, Panki, Kanpur – 208020, Uttar Pradesh, India. The role is Full-time and Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing the following activities:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential clients, market trends, and competitors.
  • Develop comprehensive market entry strategies for new territories and niche markets that align with our business goals and strengths.
  • Generate, qualify, and manage leads through proactive outreach and engagement.
  • Drive technical sales by effectively communicating the unique advantages of our advanced composites to potential clients.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop tailored solutions and proposals that meet client requirements.
  • Lead negotiations and close deals, ensuring profitable outcomes.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, funding sources, grants, and investments.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key industry players, companies, and individuals.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to align offerings with market demands.
  • Monitor industry developments and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful project execution and client satisfaction.

Key Personal Attributes, Experiences and Qualifications

The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in technical sales, business development, or a related role in advanced composites manufacturing.
  • Strong technical aptitude to understand and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker able to analyse data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated & results-oriented mindset with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Desired

  • 5+ years of experience in Composites Sales and Aerospace & Defence Liaison.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with advanced composites manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Existing network and relationships within the aerospace, automotive, or marine industries.
  • Experience in securing funding, grants, or investments for business growth.
