Job Description

As a Machining Technician, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the production of top-quality FRP composite and metallic parts. Your expertise in CAD/CAM, machine setup, CNC milling, turning, drilling, waterjet cutting, metal fabrication, and measurement and inspection will be essential in achieving our production and associated quality and efficiency goals. You will join the Operations job family in our Advanced Manufacturing Facility at 523, Ratanpur, Panki, Kanpur – 208020, Uttar Pradesh, India. The role is Full-time and Permanent.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing the following activities:

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Utilise CAD/CAM software to program and optimise CNC machines for precision machining.
Perform machine and workpiece setups, ensuring proper alignment and tool selection.
Operate CNC milling, turning, and waterjet cutting machines to produce parts with tight tolerances.
Conduct metal fabrication tasks and operate power tools to shape and finish components.
Perform thorough measurement and inspection of machined composite and metallic parts.
Troubleshoot and address any machining issues to maintain production flow.
Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols.

Key Personal Attributes, Experiences and Qualifications

The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential

A proven track record as a Machining Technician or similar role in advanced composite manufacturing.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for programming CNC machines.
Hands-on experience with CNC milling, turning, waterjet cutting, and metal fabrication.
Strong understanding of machining processes, tool selection, and workpiece setup.
Knowledge of measurement and inspection techniques for precision components.
Familiarity with power tools and their safe operation.
Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate technical information clearly.

Desired

5+ years of experience in composite part machining within the aerospace and defence industry.
Formal technical training or certification in machining, mechanical engineering, or related field.
Experience with waterjet, laser and plasma cutting technologies.
Familiarity with composite materials and their machining challenges.
Knowledge of metrology and quality control methods.
Problem-solving skills to address machining issues in real time.
