We are Datum Advanced Composites Private Limited – a rapidly growing fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite manufacturing business from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. At Datum, we design, develop, and manufacture high-performance, lightweight FRP composite products for our customers. Job Description

As a Procurement Executive, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and resources essential to our production process. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimise supply-chain strategies, streamline procurement operations, and maintain strong business relationship with suppliers. Your negotiation expertise, good communication skills and proactive approach will contribute in delivering our cutting-edge products and services to our customers. This shall drive our commitment to delivering excellence. You will report directly to the Head of Business Support.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate shall be responsible for performing the following activities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet production demands while optimising costs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while managing relationships with existing ones.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to forecast material requirements accurately.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are ordered and replenished in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve favourable terms.
  • Oversee logistics and shipping processes to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks and implement contingency plans to address disruptions.
  • Utilise data analytics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate procurement and inventory records using relevant software systems.

Key Personal Attributes, Experiences and Qualifications

The successful candidate shall demonstrate the following attributes:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, procurement, strategic sourcing, or buyer roles within the advanced composites manufacturing or related industry.
  • Thorough understanding of contract management, service agreements, and compliance documents specific to the advanced composites sector.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a track record of achieving cost savings and favourable terms.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to forecast supply chain demands, ensuring a seamless flow of materials for production.
  • Strong organisational skills and problem-solving abilities, paying meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Desired

  • 5+ years of experience in Customer Relations and Supply Chain Management specifically within the advanced composites or aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with PLM, ERP and MRP systems.
  • Previous experience of using an ERPNext for materials resource planning in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant educational background in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
